2209-A Project Success by Our Department Students

The project titled “Digital Color Scale for Quail Egg Yolks”, prepared by Yağmur DURMUŞ, a first-year student of the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program, under the academic supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Erinç GÜMÜŞ, has been approved for support within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 2209-A Research Project Support Program for University Students.

Yolk pigment intensity, one of the key indicators of egg quality, is often evaluated visually, which can lead to subjective variations between observers. The project aims to eliminate such inconsistencies by developing a digital color scale controlled by an Arduino microcontroller and housed in a 3D-printed casing, enabling objective and repeatable measurement of yolk color intensity.

With this innovative approach, the project seeks to enable digital standardization in yolk color assessment, contributing to more accurate research outcomes and improved quality control processes in animal production.

We congratulate our student Yağmur DURMUŞ and her advisor Asst. Prof. Dr. Erinç GÜMÜŞ for their successful project and wish them continued success in their academic and research endeavors.
